Nokia Lumia 800 - How it All Happend!

I normally do not talk about different mobile phones, as there are many other websites and places out there introducing all these products but no-one really talk about all these unsung heroes. But Nokia's Courage inspired me, a company which started as a paper company came that far and still fighting to be number one in the market.

I think following video says it all, but still they should have included a bit more detail. I know they are not using their own Operating System (Windows 7 Mango), but still i think they can talk alot more about camera and screen. In any case i admire Nokia!

Google+ is googling with You Tube Player

What google is planning for Google plus? Facebook is buzzing and adding more and more features, recently facebook added feature for users to be able to play music. Looks like google has no problem competing with facebook in that department. 

In the following image you can see Google+ has now You Tube play button. Google can do a lot more easily. I have to say Google+ has very fine mobile app and if google really wants to make money, google can add little fees for music lovers.

Android got a new market, Grossing and Trending

I have to say its not just Microsoft who can release unfinished products, it can be anyone and this time its Google. Google has released new Android Market and its one of the worst one i have ever seen.

Can you really believe this is the main screen of new Android market. Under Games there is section of STAFF CHOICES ( i really laughed and showed my colleague that is it a joke?) . Why is it staff choices, it could be User Choices or your choices or anything, why staff choices? Ah Google, you do one thing good and that is SEARCH.

If you go to my apps section, you cannot update any app by just clicking it, you have to open the app page then click on update and select "Accept and Update". A three step process.

I am really shocked. Only good thing i can say is they way tabs are organized like categories, featured, top paid, top free, top grossing and top trending. Google also has added is "clear search history" button in settings.

Not sure what google is trying to do. No wonder i say Apple has brain and Google is just googling around.

Yahoo app search

Yahoo! now has a new search category for Apps, so we call it "Yahoo app Search". It seems like good and easy way of searching apps for your phone. I have to say it works well, but i would say, it can be improved like any other thing in the world, there is always room for improvement.

One improvement i would say, yahoo should include apps for other Mobile Operating systems, like HP Palm's WebOs, Symbian, blackberry and Windows mobile. If yahoo can do that, then it will standout yahoo app search alot more than other app markets, now days every company has app market but there is no one place where to go and find apps for all kind of phones (a business idea - patent). Yahoo has man power and experience, i hope yahoo will do that soon.

what's wrong with kaspersky internet security - a bug

A bug in kaspersky internet security 2011, i run update 10 times and it updated ten times, how is it possible to have 10 updates, even if there were, it should have updated in one ago and if i will update it, 20 times, it might just update 20 times and so forth.

K9 - Email Client

I tried many email clients and they all have issues, heard a lot about K9 email client, never able to setup. Installed it many times and removed it many times because, i could not managed to setup my hotmail email account.

But now i managed to find on an online forum perfect pop3 settings and they worked. Here is the link and I have copied settings as well for convenience.

Incoming:
Username: blahdeblah@hotmail.co.uk
Password: your password
POP server: pop3.live.com
Port: 995
Security type: SSL (always)

Outgoing:
SMTP server: smtp.live.com
Port: 25 / 587
Security type: TLS (always)
Username: blahdeblah@hotmail.co.uk

Features:

        I found many features of K9 helpful, specially deletion of email from server and syncing folders.

K9 is full of features and surprises. Following are the ones i have noticed, if you find any good features please write them in comments.

1.   Ability to select multiple messages.
2. Swipe right to left in email view to go to next email and left to right to go to previous email.
3. Setup folder poll frequency.
4. One of the best features is folder selection, that means i can select folder to store email on SD Card.
5. Very funcky LED colour selector, if your phone supports multi-colour LED.

I will keep adding features if i find any.

Android 3.0 is here, its my honeyComb

Something new is coming and we should all know about it. Google has announced Android 3.0, before i write anything else about it, let's have a look.

First thing, Android is not for small screens anymore, its specifically designed to cater bigger market, i mean bigger screen size.

We all love Anroid's multitasking and you could view recently running apps. To help users rapidly identify the task associated with each app, the list shows a snapshot of its actual state when the user last viewed it.

There is a new android keyboard coming, not sure how exactly will it be. Users can also connect full keyboards over either USB or Bluetooth, for a familiar text-input environment.

There is a lot more improvements in Android 3.0, i will write more about it in future.
